While interviewing my father about his experience’s with the plains buffalo, I started to think that this myth or legend the Lakota’s told could be true. He explained that the buffalo is such a graceful creature. The mere size of them is enough to knock you over and the antlers jut out from the sides of their head. A buffalo could be intimidating but you must realize that the buffalo is simply the creature of the plains.
He has had some experiences with them, as he was hunting for elk in Custer State Park him and his friend noticed that the buffalo travel in herds and no lone bull will wonder away from the pack. They all feed at the same time and travel in the low grassy meadows. The Buffalo is suited for this environment.
Concluding his story I myself wanted to go and check out these awesome creatures in the valley. After thinking about his hunt I went online and checked out a few places in Custer State Park to camp and or hunt. This sounds like a good place to go and visit these Buffalo’s..
