How do you feel about being in a Cyber comp class?
I feel like it is a good way to show there is more to teaching an English class than just books and paper. I feel that it is a good way to show your feelings for the book that you are reading to the world so they can see how the book is and you can get them to read more often. It helps show that reading can be fun and a learning experience at the same time. You learn how to use a computer for the book that you are reading. So I feel a cyber class is good for many reasons to all students if they had the chance to take the class.
What's your favorite thing about your web page and why?
I think that my favorite thing about my web page is that you can show it to every person in your family and friends. It also gives a why to show younger classmates what Cyber Class is all about. I think that my favorite thing on my website is being able to tell what you know about the stuff that you have learned in the year that you have been picked to be in a cyber class.
Do you feel more confident about any of your skills in computers or writing? Explain.
Yes, because most of the things that you need in this class is being able to type fast and accurately on a keyboard. And if you are going to college for computers you need to know how to use one. So I feel that I have learned how to use the programs on a computer more accurately than just guessing and I have been able to type allot faster than I did my freshman year of High School.
What will you do with what you have learned?
I will use what I have learned in many ways. One of the things I will do with what I have learned is that I can use it to be more accurately. That way I can use my computer skills in college when I need to make a homepage or web-design for a class. I hope that I can use the skills that I have learned in this class for many other things in life.
If an outsider visited your site, what would you hope he or she would think about?
I hope that they could feel that I am really into my school work and the stuff I do in school is very interesting. So that way they see how our school system is ran by people that know what they are doing and also they feel that the teachers are really into their students and feel different than any teacher they probably know.
What have you learned?
I have learned how to type a paper more efficient on a computer than off. And I have also learned how to use Microsoft FrontPage to the fullest that I can learn. And I also learned how to use the P.A.S.T.E system.
Do you feel more confident about any of your skills in computers or writing? Explain.
Yes, because I have learned how to do many things on a computer. Well especially with my typing skills and how efficient they are. And I have also learned that most of your technology that goes into a computer is very helpful especially when you are doing an essay and you don't have to right it down on paper so it is efficient because of spell check. Most of the time that we do something on a computer it is with Microsoft FrontPage which helps you understand your criteria and also how to use the software needed.
What's your favorite thing about your web page and why?
I would have to say everything. Because everything that is on your website was either made by you or you had a partner helping you along the way. Well there is the part where the whole web page is about you which I feel that it brings out you and tells people what you might be like. How you like to do things and what your into.
How have you changed (if you have changed)?
I have changed in many ways. One of those changes was my ability to trust in myself and believe that what I am writing in my website is right whether my friends say so or not. I also believe in my self to do the right thing and trust in myself to write what I feel like writing.
What has been most challenging or frustrating for you and how have you met the challenge or overcome the frustration?
Well the challenging thing would probably be the peer pressure in class when most of them think they are smarter than everyone and they know everything but yet they really don't. And I have overcome that by just letting them talk instead of listening to the stupidity so I have overcome that and ignored it.
Do you ever find yourself helping others to learn something? How does that feel?
Is this a normal role for you or new to you? Well I have found myself this year helping others. And it feels great to be able to teach someone something that you know. And it is a new thing because when I heard we would be using computers for this year. I thought yes, I might be able to help others instead of having them help me.
