Ralph is a protagonist he is elected the leader of the tribe he attempts many times to create a miniature civilization  he is athletic and in shape. Ralph takes control of the civilization in the beginning of the book. Towards the end of the novel the civilization becomes savage following Jack and his instinct of outrage.
