Important person
One important person in my life would have to be MYSELF. I believe I am an important person in my life because I have taught myself almost everything I know about everything. One thing I taught myself is what “hot” was. Another thing I taught myself was how to ride a bike.
I taught myself what “hot” was when I was four years old. Me and my brother were home with a babysitter while my mom was out at one of her friend’s birthday parties. On the stove sat a pot of boiling water which my babysitter was using for boiling eggs. Next to the stove above the counter was a checkpoint that I visited to receive my daily dose of crackers and squeeze cheese. While my babysitter went downstairs to check on my brother, I decided that I was going to help myself to some crackers and cheese by climbing on the counter and getting them. On my way down, I slipped and tried to grab onto the nearest thing (the pot) so I wouldn’t fall...needless to say… I fell right onto the ground with a pot of boiling water right with me…Teaching me the meaning of “hot”.
When I was seven I taught myself how to ride a bicycle after receiving it that Christmas…Oh what a wonderful experience…Falling just to get up and fall again. Eventually I got a hold of it and only fell about once a week and then once a month. But every time my bike riding got “better,” my crashes got worse. Although I’ve never broken any bones, I’ve ripped A LOT of skin off of my hands and knees. I still to this day ride a bike as a primary mode of transportation, and I still fall every now and then…It has been a life changing experience.
