Turning Point Essay

One turning point in my life occurred when I was fifteen. It all started when I started to skip school. It’s not like I was skipping school to do anything bad or anything like that…I just decided not to come. I got tired of putting up with the sh…tuff that I went through on an almost daily basis. Every once in awhile, I still feel like I’m the one that gets blamed when I’m not even doing anything. For example, in my sixth period study hall, there were these two kids that were sitting next to me talking, and I’m just listening. One of the kids said something funny and I chuckled. The teacher said, "Quincy, stop talking." The two kids that were talking next to me started laughing…

BACK to the subject…After skipping school for quite some time…I had to go to court for truancy, this was my first time getting in "trouble." The judge put me on intense probation for six months along with one month of house arrest. I was in an "I don’t care" attitude and continued to skip.

My probation officer continually threatened me with sending me away. I eventually had to go to court again, and the judge put me on DOC (Department of Corrections), and I got sent to VOA (Volunteers of America) where I stayed for six months and twenty-nine days. I got sent home on May, 25th , and have been on DOC ever since.

I now do not care what anyone says about me because it doesn’t matter. I have never missed a day of school or been tardy since then. You have just read about one turning point in my life. This was written by TreMayne on October 6th, 2007.
