Ralph is the self proclaimed/voted in chief of the island he makes the decisions on what the tribe will do and how they will live. He is one of the oldest boys on the island so the younger ones flock to him for leadership and control, but this is lost when the bigger ones start finding living with out order is more fun. Ralph accepts this but still attempts to control them so they both can live with each other while living in separate places and separate rules. he is a natural born leader and puts his priorities in order of importance. He is loyal to all and stays true to his beliefs the entire book.
