Pegasus is a mythological creature that was said to be a winged horse. He was the horse of Bellerophon and Perseus. After Perseus chopped off Medusa’s head he was born out of the severed head of Medusa. After Bellerophon defeated the Chimaera with the help of Pegasus, he tried to make the horse ride to the top of Mount Olympus. This upset Zeus, so he stunned the horse with a thunderbolt, causing Bellerophon to fall off. Zeus allowed Pegasus to fly the rest of the way up the mountain.
