| The title of this myth is "The Kato Legend." Its about how Nagaicho, the creator, set out to create the world. With him he took only his dog. He created man out of dirt and then woman. He created rivers by dragging his feet deep into the earth and poking the ground with his finger. He pulled rocks around the edge of the water to make lakes and ponds. He was saying hoe the elk, deer, bears, and the people would come to drink at these places. He put salamanders, turtles, and little eels in the creeks. He put grizzlies, deer, panthers, and jack rabbits in the mountains. After they were done he and his dog walked back to the north. I chose this myth because its about a man and his dog and how they go on an adventure. |
