Hunting Dogs

One other myth is that Maine is the same as other states that don't have baiting, so therefore we can use their methods of still hunting and stalking bears. This is wrong on several fronts.Maine's dense evergreen forests are far different than the hardwood canopies of Pennsylvania, and the open alpine meadows of Montana. It's easy to see game in those areas from a distance. In Pennsylvania, you are not allowed to use bait. But during their three day bear season, 100,000 hunters will drive and push bears towards other hunters by organizing groups of up to 25 hunters and walking noisily through the woods, scaring bears towards shooters.
