Where
I
am
From
Poem
I am from the sticky, white rice that was grown in the field and put on my plate with the noodles, chicken, and sauces in the Chinese food. I am also from the sweet smelling and spicy BBQ sauce on the tasty BBQ ribs. I have fallen from heaven, and am the pocket change that was in the pink, green, red, or purple pigs, green and yellow ducks, and white and gray rabbit piggy banks that I held, to photos of family members under my bed, fluffy white pillow, closet, and in my wooden dresser drawers. I am from the quiet, fresh pine, and peaceful people, with rotted trees, and new planted trees. It is small, hilly, green grass, and swampy with gravel roads with corn attached to each side. I am the child from the big JOCK. I am from my parents, along with the church and the pastor. I am the person from the phrases "An apple a day keeps the doctor away," "A pack of gum is like a pack of squares," and "Ash, what’s up doc?"
