The first man to do a kick flip was like the first man on the moon. The first man to flip a skate board was Rodney Mollin. He made up what is known as street skating. Then others followed him in the next generation of skate boarding. There was one other man who followed in his foot steps, doing just as good but always second to do it. His name is Dewon Song. These two would battle it out for who is the best. Some say Rodney is but some say Dewon is number one.
Rodney Mollin was a young boy when he first started to skate. As he grew older his tricks became harder. He made up at twenty-nine tricks. Once he perfected his tricks, he went to competitions and demos. The first big thing he won was the Dew tour, mountain dew presents a huge competition that takes three days. In the end he was crowned first. This lead to sponsor like Globe, enjoi, Tensor, Matix, Speed Demons, Darkstar. During his reign over the skating world, he got the nick name “the king” because everyone looked up to him.
Daewon Song was just a kid who got his bike stolen so borrowed a skate board from a friend. The next thing he was trying to scrape up some money for his own. A few years later a company called Gemco came to his home town. He took first place. Gemco wanted him to skate under their name. Dewon was just looking for a way out of his town, so he took it. Ever since, then he has been improving himself.
They have been sharing the spot light of skate boarding. They both are now on the same skate team, Almost. Almost has had a bit of a battle of the best between these two men. they called it Rodney Mullen vs Deawon Song. It’s a video that has nothing but insane skate tricks and them batting to see who is the best on a skate board. There was never a declared winner in the video, so no one will know who is the best. I think Rodney is the best because he can do more tricks then Daewon Song and he made up the tricks that made Daewon Song so famous.
