Hurricanes and Fights.
Hurricanes and fights. Completely different, right? Hurricanes are tropical storms with winds that can reach a constant speed of 74 miles per hour or more. Fights are attempts to harm other people or animals physically or emotionally. Obviously, there two are not similar in any way. One is a noun; one is a verb. However, hurricanes and fights have a lot more in common than people think. These similarities aren’t straight forward, but are deeper than the usual mind penetrates. No matter how deep these thoughts could go, they are still there. If you open you mind, these thoughts will be very easy to understand.
Hurricanes are storms that cause destruction. They originate in the Atlantic Ocean or Caribbean Sea or eastern parts of the Pacific Ocean. They travel north, northwest, or northeast from its origin. They have strong winds greater than 74 miles per hour and involve heavy rains. The eye of the storm is usually 20-30 miles wide and can extend over 400 miles. A hurricane can last two weeks or more over open water. There can be strong thunder storms with lightning and tornadoes can occur. The hurricane turns counter-clockwise while building power over open water and finally loses power when it hits land.
Fighting can also be very destructive. It can be physical or verbal. Fighting usually consists of yelling and a lot of mixed feelings. These feelings consist of anger, frustration, and confusion. Most fights generate from a disagreement and different set of opinions. Little disagreements lead to arguments, and argument lead to fights. Fights can just consist of yelling, however, it can escalade to physical contact, which includes, punching, kicking, throwing, and etc. Fights are a part of life that is not pleasant causing bad memories to develop.
So, what do hurricanes and fights have in common? Well, like I mentioned before they can both be destructible. Whether, it’s destroying your inside feelings or your property, they both have negative effects. They can be intense and fierce. They are both things that build up inside you and eventually explode. Storms build power over the water and release it on land; anger builds inside and eventually explodes into a fight. They both cause misery throughout life. However, there is a positive thing that does occur after a fight or a hurricane. Both situations have a rebuilding stage afterwards. After hurricanes, communities are forced to work together to rebuild what was damaged, and after fights the two or more people, who took place in the fight, are forced to work together to get over their problems and become good friends once again. In both cases, it’s kind of a moment to start fresh, which is proven to be good.
Even though this essay doesn’t really give my opinion justice, it is a start. I hope people can see the similarities of fights and hurricanes now. Just always remember to keep your mind open. After all, it is true that fights are like storms.
