| In chapter XIV the story teller talks about how the kiowa`s were
making a horse when heavy winds came up and blew everything into the
sky. Now they believe that the heavy winds that come down from the sky
is a horses head. The historian says that the plains can be calm but they have be really harsh but know matter what they are always windy. The boy said that he can remember a storm cellar he would go in at his grandmas house. He said that he remembers the weather getting so bad that even a grown man couldn't open the cellar door. I remember a storm one time when I was little. We were camping and the weather got so bad so we had to pack stuff up and drive to my grandparents. It was lightening out really bad and the tornado sirens went off. We got to my grandparents house and we had to go downstairs. Nothing really happened after all just lots of rain, wind and lightening. I was so scared! |
