The Cast Skin This myth tells how people used to never die, but shed their skin to renew youth. One day a woman went to renew youth and shed her skin in a nearby river. When she did her cast got caught in sticks in the flowing river. She returned home to her daughter who cried and did not believe that the same lady was her mother because she didn't look old anymore. The woman went back and retrieved her cast and never took it off again. From then on nobody shed their casts and they eventually died. |
