The most important turning point in my life happened on June 10 1999 in Kansas City Kansas. That day was a sunny nice warm day. My mom had made breakfast, and I was outside playing football with my cousins. Then they had to go home, so I went inside and my arm started to hurt. I told my mom and she said to go lay down for an hour. When I got up, I went back to my mom and said that it still hurt, and she said if it still hurts later I will take you to the hospital. I went to the living room and sat down. That is when I stated to watch TV, and then my cousin came back. He sat down next to me and we watched TV until about 9:00 p.m. and by that time I felt better. Then we went into my room and started to play some video games, and then my step dad came home at about 9:30 and said that he had made about $3100 that night, and he was here to stay. At about 9:40 all of the people at my house had left. Then at 10:00 there was a knock at the door and they said police and busted in the door. 19 swat officers busted into my house and raided the whole place. My cousin and I were still playing video games when the bedroom door got busted open and three swat officers pointed guns at me and my cousin. That is when we started yelling at the officers and asked what are you doing here in my house. The officers explained that they had raided the house because there was suspicion of drug activity going on. They were right, and that is how my step dad made about $3000 a night, but I didn’t tell them that. The police took my parents and seven others to the jail and they took my cousin and me to ask us questions at the jail. I was taken away from my parents and went to live with my grandparents. My grandparents lived in a smaller city called Lawrence Kansas. After a year and a half I got to go back and live with my mom, but my step dad was still in Prison. About five years later I moved to this little town in South Dakota. Moving there was like a whole new world with way less crime activity and not as much violence. This little town is a peaceful place to live with not much to do, but I find things to occupy my time.
