Piggy's contributions to the group would have to be making the makeshift sundial that all of them used to tell the time on the island. He also brings a scientific, rational side to civilization on the island. Piggy also gave Ralph the advice to make him choose or make good decisions on the island, so kind of like Ralph's second hand person.
