Piggy's role on the island is mainly just being the person who is left behind on activities. Piggy is the smart kid on the island and he is fat so he he not really good for anything. the only thing they mainly use him for is for using his glasses to start fires other than  that he has a small role and is the fat kid on the island that everyone can make fun of.
