Piggy's Place on the Island
In the book Lord of the Flies, Piggy plays a vital role. Piggy helps Ralph to establish some order among the children. Piggy is a huge supporter of the order of the conch. Ralph depends on Piggy for help leading the group because Piggy provides very sensible advice. Without Piggy, the fire that was so vital to the tribe of children surviving wouldn't have been light. It was Piggy's specs that reflected the sun's rays onto the pile of sticks to start the fire, whose smoke attracted the rescuers to the island. Sadly Piggy doesn't get the chance to be rescued because he was killed before the rescuers arrived.
