A Winter Tale

I once felt like a polar bear on a very snowy day. It was cold outside, and I was completely bundled up. My brother wanted to build a snow man and a snow fort. We brought the dogs out with us to have some company. We decided we wanted to pretend that we were on an Arctic adventure. The two dogs we had at the time were named Old Dan and Little Ann. My brother, Jon, said they would be wolves coming after us because the wolves hadn’t eaten for days. Our snow fort was finished at the time and I decided that when the wolves came looking, that would be the perfect place to hide. It started to get colder as the wind picked up and the snow began to fall harder. Did I care? Nope. I was warm in my big fuzzy coat, snow boots, ear muffs, gloves, and something to cover my face.

The "wolves" began to chase us and I dove into the fort. It was warm, and a shield from the wind. Jon had to find his own place and when he couldn’t the "wolves" got him. This story relates me to a polar bear because they have huge layers of fat and fur, and they can protect themselves when needed. When I had my big coat and my snow fort I felt like a polar bear because I was very warm and I knew how to be a survivor.
