Alice Marie

Best Buds, Friends Forever, BFF (Best Friends Forever), Girls Rule. I can’t tell you how many bracelets, necklaces, and rings Alice and I had that said these things. Alice is the most outgoing person you could ever meet. I’m not exactly outgoing, not exactly shy either, but definitely somewhere in between there. Alice brought out the loudness in me for sure though. When she and I were together we were always getting yelled at by both of our moms for being loud, annoying, or immature. Alice and I met in the 1st grade. Her family used to always take me to church with them at Calvary Baptist Church. Over the years Alice and I grew apart, but then in eight grade she was running for student council and I helped her make stickers. Then we were inseparable again.

In the summer of 2006 my mom decided that we could go to Valley Fair in Minneapolis, Minnesota. My mom told me that I could bring two friends along that she would pay for. I decided to bring Lexi and of course Alice. The whole point of the trip was for my birthday on August 3rd.

I remember Alice was wearing a brown shirt and tan shorts to match. I was wearing an Orange tank top and white shorts. Lexi was wearing a green shirt with the word "smart" then a picture of a donkey and grey cut off capri’s. We left early in the morning in our blue Chrysler Mini Van.

The trip up there was very thrilling, we had to stop and go to the bathroom a zillion times. At one of the rest stops it had a sign that said "Welcome to Minnesota", so all of us girls (including my mom) took a picture in front of it.

Of course we had to jam out the entire way up there too. No one could hear anything anyone was saying because we had the music up so loud and everyone was singing. The ride was forever long and we all thought it would never end. When we got to Minneapolis the traffic was so terrible. Everyone in that city drives crazy and fast. The only place we went to in Minneapolis was the mall and then we went to St. Paul where our hotel was.

In the morning, we went to eat, and then straight off to Valley Fair. At first we could not find it. Then, once we finally did find it we turned into the employee parking lot. I would say we were probably driving around for twenty minutes before we finally got to where we needed to be.

Once we were inside, my mom and her friend split apart from us and went on their own rides. No one brought a cell phone in so we just agreed to meet at the front in 2 hours. So, Lexi, Alice, and I went off on our own ways. The roller coasters were huge! The roller coaster that we went on was made from wood. It wasn’t the biggest or the fastest rollercoaster but for my first time on one I think it was okay. The best ride there was this one water ride. On it, there were 6 people and you went over this hill thing. When you got to the top you went down into the water really fast and all the water came up and got you completely soaked.

The way home seemed like it went way faster then the way up, probably because we had nothing to look forward to. We were all a nice cherry color thanks to the sun. Mostly we slept on the way back, unless Alice and I were making fun of Lexi for the things she was saying/doing. My mom and the rest of us girls were singing and dancing, but eventually we all crashed from exhaustion.
