I’m from huge meals on thanksgiving and the long nap afterwards

I’m from sleeping in until noon just because there was nothing else to do

I’m from playing with a dog that never got tired

And a cat that ran away never to be seen again

I’m from a family full of messy divorces

And people who learn from their mistakes

I’m from "men never cry"

And "you’re in good company, let it out"

I’m from flying through school my entire life, hoping it won’t catch up with me

I’m from faking sick in the morning so I don’t have to go school

I’m from hours upon hours of videogames

And bright red eyes that burn like the sun

I’m from getting up early on Saturdays just to watch cartoons

And I’m from those classic cartoons that you never see anymore

I’m from a world of things that are gone

But inside, never die
