How does this class seem different from other English classes you've had in the past?
This class seems different from others, because instead of having huge assignments that we don't understand and takes forever, it seems so far to be pretty easy since everything is pretty well explained and everything is done on the computer so we don't have HUGE, confusing, boring assignments that make no sense. We don't really have in class discussions about the book, and if we do then the teacher doesn't normally single us out. Instead of reading the book and forgetting about what happened and why it happened, we write everything down on the computer and save it so we can always look back on it if we need to.
Why is it important for you to have created and maintain a web page in school?
It shows that the school can trust us to maintain a site without posting inappropriate things on it. It shows us how to mechanize our lives in this ever changing electrical environment so in the future if/when we need these skills we wont have to go through extensive programming in order to learn how to do all this stuff, instead well know how to do it, and be able to do it well.
If you had more time to work on your web page, what would you change or improve about it and why?
I would add a lot more color to the page. I think color makes more people interested in a site because it stimulates the brain. Color can make people feel happy, sad, excited, or angry. I think color is something that should be considered, along with design. Another thing i would add is music because music doesn't just entertain people, but it makes them happy and more interested into what the sites about. If you have just plain white text with absolutely no music on a black background not much people are going to come to your site because there just not going to be interested in looking at it.
How have you integrated your learning of literature with your web and technical learning?
Working on the web has improved my spelling and has helped me come up with more creative Ideas. It also helps me with the form of my creative writing style. Working on the internet has also showed me how to look things up to figure out how to use them in useful, creative ways.
In this wonderful year of sophomore comp I learned many things. One of the coolest, however, was learning how to put a webpage together and get it working properly. I was expecting that putting a page together ,like this one, would be much harder to do then it actually was. I also learned, and understand, what a mandala is. I learned how to set of hyperlinks on my set to other pages on the web and into documents. In sophomore comp this year we also read a book called Running Loose. This
