3. A "Catalyst" is something or an event which starts a reaction. What are some of the catalysts in the movie which first start Homer toward his goal and then keep him going?

I think that one of the Catalysts that started Homer towards his goal was when he saw the sputnik. When the whole town was out there watching it go across the sky. That was the first time when homer started to think about making a rocket. The first time that he told anyone was at the supper table when the whole family was eat. Homers father was talking about how his older brother was going to get a Football scholarship. And Homer butts in and says that he’s going to build a rocket. And the first thing that was said about it was from his mother, she said don’t blow yourself up.  Then his older brother started to laughs at him.

Homer went to school the next day and he told his friends and the only person that knew anything about rockets was the school geek named Quetin. He was the only person that no one talked to. But Homer knew that Quetin knew a lot about rockets and stuff. So the first Catalyst was to cover come the school and he did that when he went to lunch and sat at the lunch table and every kid in the lunchroom got quiet and looked at him, as he sat down and the first thing that Quetin said was I don’t let people copy homework. And Homer started to ask questions and Quetin helped him get to the state fair and he then went on to get this collage education and the graduated and he went to work for NASA training astronauts to go into space.
