There was a short man who might have been one of the most influential beings in the history of Egypt. He was only ruler for ten years, and he was the one that the people of Egypt thank for giving them good luck. It was the one and only King Tutankhamun, or I will call him King Tut. I will be talking about whom he was, his tomb, and the curse of King Tut.
King Tut was a part of the last dynasty of the Egyptian times. As the finding of his tomb shows, he might have been one of the wealthiest rulers in Egyptian times. He was ruler for only ten years when he somehow died from unknown causes. Some people thought that he was poisoned. Some others think that he had received some head trauma, and he died from some internal bleeding in the head. While he was ruler, he reinstated some of the gods that the previous ruler had kicked out of the religion because he thought that they were bringing him bad luck. The people back then thought that he was making a bad idea. But the old ruler did not care what the people thought, so he pretty much did what he wanted to in spite of what the civilians thought. When King Tut Reinstated them, the people thought that he was the true ruler that would bring the country into the light of prosperity. He also cleaned the temples of the gods, and he had all new statues built in the honor of the gods and in the hope that the god would bring him good luck and that they would help him in his time of rule, but I guess that the gods did not think so. (Death and Burial)
When he was mummified, his body received special treatment. He organs were gold plated and they were placed in jars that were crafted in the most valuable metals back At that time. His body was wrapped in the most fine and detailed cloth that they had. When they wrapped him, they put rare jewels and some of his most personal belonging in the bandages, and they put a curse on the body.
Almost right when he was put in his sarcophagus and was put in his tomb, Tomb raiders broke in and tried to steal every thing value in the tomb. Their plans were ended in a quick hurry. When the official tomb inspectors went and checked the entire tomb that had been recently sealed, and when they saw that a tomb was broken into, they called for the palace guards. They were hoping that the robbers were still in the tomb. They were in luck. when they found the robbers, they were right in the process of removing the sarcophagus lid. Then they caught them and put them to death. When they went back to the tomb they put everything back were it was meant to be. Then they resealed the tomb. The tomb was never broken into again. But unfortunately the tomb was lost when they started to build the next king’s tomb, and later all of the floods washed any trace of the tomb from the earth. (Death and Burial)
The tomb was thought to have never existed. But when a man named Howard Carter was exploring in Egypt, he found a tomb that still had its original seal. At that moment he found the nearest phone and called his employer Lord Carnarvon. When the call was over, Lord Carnarvon started to hire all of the people that he could, buy ,and he was given the permission to enter the tomb. (The Discovery)
At first he only drilled a hole so he could see what the tomb looked like. The tomb looked like a big mess. Then about a year after they started to open the tomb, Lord Carnarvon died and he was in the best shape of his life. Then about a couple days later Howard Carter died form no reason. He was in the middle of the work site when he just fell over and died. When they reached the sarcophagus, they found out that there was a curse that was placed on the tomb. The cure, was that anyone disturbed this tomb was going to die at the hand of the gods in about a year. If that was true, that might explain how all the people died without a cause. (The Curse Of King Tut )
King Tut was a young man who died a mysterious death, and there was a curse that was put on his tomb. But if you don’t believe me, then go into his tomb and see what happens. All I have to say is watch out for traps.
