Myth | Interview | Journal

When I interviewed my dad he told me a story about the time he hunted for buffalo. He was out on a ranch where buffalos were raised and it was about four in the morning. They took a truck out on the prairie and walked a mile into some trees. They spotted a couple buffalo within the first hour. He took his gun and pulled it up slowly and took aim at the biggest one. He took fire and the bull took charge. Then he tried to reload but he was shaking too much he couldn’t get the bolt back in. Finally he chamber shut and shot again. The bull flinched and still charged. He shot the bull 2 more times before it dropped 10 feet away from his feet. He jumped with joy and was lucky that the bull didn’t run him over. Until this day we have a mount of that buffalo.
