How does this class seem different from other English classes you've had in the past?
This class is very different from other English classes I have taken because it is all on the computer. Also I feel like when we have questions that need to be answered they are more deep thinking and you can answer them how ever you want, there is no right or wrong answer just what your opinion is. I also know how to set up a web site if wanted. I know how to make a Mandala chart which sort of helps you figure out who you are as a person. We are reading a book about sports which is different because it seems like in school you don't really read about sports you read more about other things and different situations. The class that I am in is very small in population which is a benefit because you can learn more easily one on one with the teacher. And you get to know everyone in your class easier.

My favorite part about my web page is that I can speak my mind and it sort of be anonymous. The theme is really fun and it is my favorite color. My most favorite part about my web page is the Poetry section. I love writing poetry and putting what I feel in words. I can't wait till more and more is put on that page.

I would hope they would think that whoever made this site would either see that their are many different lives and different situations than their own and other people around them. Another thing would be that maybe the person who is looking at it and me the creator would be similar to each other.
Even though you are too young to vote, it won’t be long. You should be aware of what is going on in the world and in our country. So, I want you to write a five paragraph journal entry explaining who you would vote for for president if you were able to, and give three good reasons why. In case you don’t know, the people still in the race are Republicans John McCain and Mike Huckabee and Democrats Hilary Clinton and Barack Obama.
To vote is a privilege in the USA. To not vote would show how lazy and undisciplined the US people really are. If I were to vote I would vote for John McCain. I have chosen three reasons why I would vote for him and I have some other reason to why I would not vote for the others.
I would vote for John McCain number one, because he is against abortion. I think abortion is wrong and it should not be allowed in almost all of the US. If girls are careless in their own decisions about having children, then that is their own fault. Also, I if their are so many women complaining about how bad they feel about getting an abortion then why have it allowed if it causes pain for the baby and the mother emotionally and physically. I believe John McCain would reinforce the rights of abortion.
Another reason I would vote for John McCain is because he actually gives examples and reasons for what he is doing and what he wants to do in the future. He wants change but not a uncomfortable change that mostly everyone would disagree with. He promotes his ideas in a good way and he doesn't try to bring his competitors down to bring himself up in the campaign. He is confident in his beliefs and his ideas. He doesn't keep secrets and he doesn't seem sneaky to me. He looks like a truthful man to his country and would try to keep it a safe place and a good place for the people.
The war in Iraq has been going on for about seven years. There has been conflicts and decisions about bringing our beloved soldiers back to the US. My father went over seas in the first year we began to fight the Iraqis. He was so proud to go fight for his country, even though it was sad and hard when he left, it was worth it knowing that my father was fighting for me and for the freedom of not only our country but other countries. I think the war is mostly for good in our case. We are helping those in need and fighting for what is right. John McCain would keep the soldiers in Iraq and keep it from going into complete chaos. If we were to take out our soldiers from Iraq eventually the terrorist would be back into our territory again. It would not only be a terrible thing in their countries but it the chaos would eventually reach ours.
John McCain is my number one choice in this election. Even though my family is republican and my parents and brother are probably voting for McCain, I in my own opinion would vote for McCain. I am looking forward to voting in the future. The next election I will be old enough and I am so excited to have that privilege. I don't know how this election will affect me but i know it affects something and I hope who ever wins will make good choices for our country.

The steps I have taken to revise my web page is adding new things and fixing what I already had. I have added more poetry and new essays. I have learned how to hyperlink certain things in the proper way. My web page is going to be revised again in the future and it will have more added features to it. I decided to make these revisions because it was asked of me and I just needed to get it done for my teacher to grade and what not. There are many things that still could be revised but it will be done sooner or later.

I don't feel different in my computer skills as much as my writing skills. I feel like I have improved on my writing skills more that anything else. I know more about punctuation and more about words than I did before. Also In the reading department I feel more obligated to read. I usually don't like to read, but it has come clear to me that you are more intelligent if you read books or some sort of educational article.

My writing with another person was very interesting. It was interesting because both of us thought so much different. It was hard to agree on some things to write about but it ended up being all good in the end. In some ways it was awkward because I felt like I couldn't put my true emotions and feelings in the story or paper we were writing. I wasn't sure of what they would think of me. But then that is the fun part about writing with other people because they get to know who you are even if you are a little bit strange. And I got to know who they were a little bit more. It was a pleasure to write with new people and to figure out different ways to write things and different ways to organize. Another thing was how fast some people wanted to get their work done. Some want to take their time and others wanted to get it done as fast as possible. getting it done fast was a good things because we have more time to do other things and to move on with our work.
End of the year reflection
It has come to the end of the year. Sophomore comp has been a class of interest and delight. I have learned many things to help me with the rest of my high school adventure. I have been taught by a very great teacher who knows much about education and life. Through this class I have discovered that putting your emotions and feelings on paper is much easier than trying to tell it out loud. I have learned that using research sites helps you write a research paper instead of using the little information in your head about your topic. It is much easier to have a resource than to write down what you think you know. I have been confronted on my mistakes. One of them is not using commas and certain words the right way. The people in the class have got to know me and I have been honored to know them closer as well. it has been a lot of fun in Sophomore composition class and I will miss it very much.
Some skills I have acquired is typing. I knew how to type before this class but now I am fast and more observant of what I type. Another skill I have developed is knowing where mostly everything is on the computer. At first it was hard to follow along with my teacher because it was all on the computer and I had no idea where everything was. But now I am well detailed in where and how the computer programs work.
Being in a computer class has brought upon many useful skills. I could use almost all of the educational things I have learned for the future. I could use the knowledge of making my own website for a business if I ever have one. Or, I could just make my own website and put my own ideas and feelings on it. Learning new ways to make poetry more poetic is a skill I could use. I always write in my journal book at home and now I can have a variety of poetry.
I have become more comfortable with my own writing. Punctuation is still a factor for me, but it is getting better. Writing is a great way to express your self either in a good way or a bad way. Either way I have become more acceptable about what I write and I really don't care if people read my writing anymore because most of it is how I feel. Sometimes it is good for someone else to read your writing because they can edit it and make it better.
At the beginning of the year we were assigned to make our own websites. I was terrified because I knew nothing about computers or websites! It was hard to get the hang of signing in everyday and trying to remember all the passwords and right icons to push. Then came the hard part, we had to hyperlink and bookmark papers and words on the website. That part was confusing at first because there were so many little things you had to save and be sure of before it actually worked. But now with the help of my fellow class mates and teacher to get me started I know more than a regular student would know about web pages and internet things. Also, if I did not know how to do something on the computer or websites I could at least guess to see if it is right without ruining it. A major thing I will always remember is to save, save, save. Make sure to save everything you have otherwise if everything is lost you can always put it back.
Having a web site has not really effected how I learn, just how I put what I have learned onto paper or a web site. The way it effects my writing is it tells me if something is wrong. For example is I spelled a word wrong it will underline it red so I know it is wrong. It also under lines sentences if they are grammatically incorrect. It is very help full especially when I am not a grammar teacher and my teacher has so many papers to correct.
if I could go back and start this over I wish I could have turned in my work on time and took it more seriously. Now it is the end of the year and I still have much to learn.
