One may enjoy the works of mysteries, or even the thrill of finding something new that has no certain history or a certain future. Unsolved mysteries are quite thrilling and some make you want to shiver. It takes hard work to find out something that has been lost for a long time. Some people have been trying to figure out all types of mysteries for most of their lives. I wonder what it would be like studying something you may never really know the purpose of. Who really knows if there is Bigfoot? What if there really are aliens making crop circles? Where did the famous Stonehenge come from? All these questions may never be answered. With the clues and information people have for these theories, they may be able to reveal the true mystery and history behind them.

Stonehenge is one of the most famous sites in the world. It is in Southern England and is about one hundred and twenty eight yards away from a main highway. There is a parking lot and even a gift shop to attract people to come see it. The stones are about six meters tall, which is about twenty feet. These stones are so big, that mostly everyone has a hard time believing men stood them up. It would take a machine to lift those stones. They weigh around 42 tons. It truly is a mystery how just men put those stones up without any sort of modern machinery. All that they mostly used was enormous amount of muscle strength and a large amount of men. It is believed that it took three years to build it but it also may have taken longer, much longer.

It is believed in some stories that the druids built the Stonehenge. They were spiritual and were involved with Wicca projects. They would worship gods or goddesses. It is believed that they still have rituals at Stonehenge now a day. Another theory is that Merlin the wizard built it. It was said that a king needed a place for worship and rituals. It of course isn’t true but just a silly theory that people have developed over the years.

In the modern time now, people have thought it to be a place for human sacrificing. That is a scary thought that shouldn’t ever be true, but, in the case of Stonehenge, it may be true. Of course in this day and age many people would think of such a thing. Animal sacrificing may have been a hobby at Stonehenge. There are many old pig bones found around Stonehenge. Whoever discovered the pig bones never found the skulls. Sadly, the pigs may have been beheaded for some sort of ritual. Even though there were animal sacrifices at Stonehenge, it doesn’t mean it wasn’t a religious place. Unfortunately, some people have made it into some sort of brutal human sacrificing place. If it were such a place than it wouldn’t be as religious as it has been thought to be. Stonehenge has left proof that it was a religious site without brutal human behavior.

Marriages were believed to be very common at the Stonehenge. Since it may have been a religious site, of course there would be marriages attending there. One of the main ideas that have evolved is the marriage of the sun and the moon. Many scientists believe that Stonehenge was built for the purpose of the sun and the moon. It appears as one of the main reasons Stonehenge was built. Astronomy is very well proven to be the reason for Stonehenge and many people believe so. It is well known to be a calendar; if followed right, it will show you the next lunar eclipse.

Stonehenge will always be a mystery. Even if someone found out the real truth, there would not be one hundred percent truth. The intelligent thinking of others has brought up a very interesting and inspiring mystery. Stonehenge is still used to this day as an astronomy and religious site. It is a symbol of history and strength from the unknown people who built it. I think Stonehenge is one of the most interesting topics in the world. Now I feel inspired to go on a rampage of mystery.
