The Germanic Horse Gods, Hengest and Horsa, are said to be two brothers that led the Jutes invasion of Britain.  People believe that they founded the kingdom of Kent, an Anglo-Saxon kingdom of England. Vortigern, the fifth century king of Wales and South England, invited the two gods to join him in the fight against the Picts and Scots to the North. In the epic battle Horsa was killed but the loss did not affect the outcome.  The victory allowed for the settlement of Kent by the Jutes.
