| The Mudman was amazed by what his father, Creator sun, could do. Creator sun took mud and molded it into a thing with four legs, a head and a body as he had done with the Mudman. On its head he made nostrils then blew in to them and said, "with the breathe from me go and live like my children live. Eat the grass and plants and things hat look like you. Become many and provide food for my children." This new thing tried to get up and work but it was too weak. It fell down but kept getting up and trying to walk. This was the first meat to be given the Mudman so he could eat it along with the roots, berries, and bark that was the only thing they had eaten in a long time. This is how the buffalo came to be. |
