Passing by the Hy-Vee floral shop after work I spot a gerber daisy.
My favorite color of course I decide to purchase this sight
When I got home I decide to put this beauty into a vase and display it for everyone to see
Every day walking past that daisy it would blast its light into my retina
I would be stunned as if some type of deer in a headlight
Though its light would only shine on me, as if I were the celebrity on stage
But now the light is dull and I am famous no more

People out and about with friends and family. Holding glass cylinders in the air, anticipating the rest of the night. Dressed like royalty, they look as classy as possible. Smiles and applause as they in unison cheer while watching an imminent ball of light drop on their TV screen. Hoping for something more than hospitality from their loved one when the clock hits 12:00. They crowd together and count down from thirty. Finally the clock strikes midnight, everyone scrambles for another partner to share a moment. Then finally the party begins, children go home to bed, and on with the new year with a bang.
