Even though you are too young to vote, it won’t be long. You should be aware of what is going on in the world and in our country. So, I want you to write a five paragraph journal entry explaining who you would vote for for president if you were able to, and give three good reasons why.  In case you don’t know, the people still in the race are Republicans John McCain and Mike Huckabee and Democrats Hilary Clinton and Barack Obama.

    This year the election race looks to be pretty intense. Though I haven't followed the election closely, my choice for this year would be Mike Huckabee. Based on what I have read on the internet and seen on the news he seems to me like the overall best choice. Huckabee is known for loosing 110 pounds which he could use to promoted getting America healthy. He also plays bass guitar in a band, I think that this is refreshing to hear, we would finally have a cool rocker president. And lastly, he is  Southern Baptist Minister. In this way he could bring more ideas based from religion.

    Because of Huckabee's dramatic weight loss of 110 pounds, he could be a good role model for all Americans who are obese, or even the ones who are just trying to loose those last ten pounds. Huckabee could motivate fast food places to push healthier food and schools could follow by giving healthier lunches to their students. Since America is known as the most over-weight country in the world, wouldn't we all like to change that title to the healthiest country in the world and be a role model for other nations? I would and Mike Huckabee could help us with that change.

    Playing bass guitar has been an ever growing popular hobby and thanks to Huckabee that tradition continues. I believe that playing a musical instrument teaches discipline and organization. Learning to play an instrument is not only a skill to be learned but for some can act as a stress reliever and also a way to develop new ideas and ways of thinking. A president with a hobby that relieves stress without having him leave the White House and teaches his ways of discipline and new ideas, to me it looks like a win-win situation.

    Preaching the ideas of the gospel is not what any president should do by any means. Though bringing the ideas of the bible into our society would not necessarily be a bad thing. I think that because of the fact that Huckabee is a minister, he could maybe help bring our society back to more of a grounded level. He could take us back to a time when everyone believe in the bible and what it had to say, but with all the different religions in this world, we need some one with some type of strong faith to help us run our country. No matter what religion you are the majority involve treating people the way you want to be treated and this is what our country should get back to.

    These are the reasons why I think that Mike Huckabee would be a good president. Though these ideas may seems childish to some to me, a teen, they all seem like wonderful reasons to vote for someone.

How have you integrated your learning of literature with your web and technical learning?

    By learning how to do certain things on the computer you are able to understand more about what our world is eventually coming to, which is the age of computers. With everything already that is being replaced by computers we soon will be learning from them. By taking this class and using the internet and computers to publish our work, we are able to put our information out there for future generations that will be learning on the computers and using them as a constant tool. Every class should start to use this method because sooner than later we will be resorting to computers for our own basic needs, and if we're not prepared for it we will get lost in the array of information.

Do you feel more confident now than you did at the beginning of the year about any of your skills: computer? writing? reading? Explain.

    Reading, writing, and computers are all tied together in some way. I never really understood how they could be until I took this class. By learning how to intertwine these subjects, each became easier to understand and use. My computer skills became more advanced, I was able to read faster, and my writing became smoother. All this gave me a greater sense of confidence in these areas.

Writing collaboratively can be challenging and rewarding. Write about your experience writing with another person.

    Writing with another person can be rewarding and also can have its downfalls. The rewarding side, is that you get to hear another person's thoughts and ideas and if you ever get stuck there is always someone there to help keep you going. The downfall to having a partner can be things such as: lack of help from your partner, conflicting ideas, and the ever constant arguing that can occur.

End of the Year Reflection

    This year has been a wonderful learning experience for my classmates and I. We have learned about writing, computers, and how to become better students. During the majority of this class, we were on the computer learning about new ways to put our writing on our web sites and how to brainstorm new ideas for our poetry. Our research projects were a unique experience because we were able to choose our topics rather than doing it on some book none of us liked or a topic that none of us could relate to. We were then able to publish this on our web sites and read other classmates' papers and their topics.

    Though this class was challenging at times, we always seemed to figure it out with the help of our amazing teacher. She led us through times of confusion and trouble and helped us pull through when we thought that there was no where left to go. She always gave us the encouragement we needed to do our best, We are all very thankful for that. Being in a loose environment where we were able to share our thoughts with our classmates helped too, especially when someone got stuck and didn't know what to write next. By doing this we were able to hear what others were thinking about the same thing and get different opinions on certain things which could cause someone to lean one way rather than the other.

     Also by learning and using computers more, it helps in other classes as well. I have never liked computers, they just seem over complicated to me. Though i realized that our world is coming into a computer age, I chose to ignore the fact in hopes that the world would turn back to its old ways. But after taking this class i realize that computers aren't as complicated as I thought and they can do some really coo things. Things I never even thought a computer could do, proved to be possible. Without taking this class i would've never learned how to do some of these things or even how to be a better writer which is important in our everyday lives as well. This class was beneficial in all aspects of my career as a student and I am very thankful I had the opportunity to take it.
