Where is your Homework?

It is nonexistent. I figured that everything I need to know, I would learn in class by my amazing teacher.

It’s right here of course. You only asked for 100 words, but I added a few hundred more just in case you weren’t satisfied.

A dinosaur that I encountered on my way to school ate it. You assigned so much that he had enough for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

I was so busy last night doing all the actually important things that I didn’t have time for your lame assignment.

My favorite television show was on last night, and I figured since I’m your favorite student and all, that you wouldn’t mind giving me an extra week or so.

               Fish

All day, all I do is sit in my dish.
With all of my other friends that are fish.
Small children like to beat my bowl,
Maybe that’s why I end up in a big swirling hole.

Some may consider me dumb,
Probably because of the polluted ocean water that I am from.
I have lots of scales
I could even be the size of a whale!

Fall

Fall is my favorite.
Leaves are on the ground
And falling from trees.
The leaves are changing colors
And picnic season is running out.

Outside work begins,
Raking is always fun.
First you rake them all up
Then you and your friends jump right in.

The weather is just right.
It’s perfect for walking and jogging and running.
Just right for taking a nap
And leaving the windows wide open.

It’s cute jacket or sweatshirt weather.
It’s a time for digging out sneakers and clogs.
This is the season for new hats, gloves, and scarves.

Football season is rolling along nicely.
The first quarter of school is coming to an end.
Friends are being reunited.
Spend all the time you can outside

DURING FALL SEASON!

♥Daddy♥

A time for senior pictures: sitting, waiting, for the pictures to be done.
He is anxious to graduate and continue into a life of success.
Dad has big hopes and dreams.
Dad is dating Mom at the time.
His outfit doesn’t fit his personality.
He is the type to wear anything comfortable,
Not caring what anyone thinks.
It’s surprising that he does not have a ball cap on.
He wears a ring with pride.
His glasses are worn from then to this day.
The chosen background,
Whether selected or not,
Fits him.
This is the man that will someday be a success in his daughter’s eyes.
This is the man that will marry his beautiful girlfriend.
This is the man who does all he can to make his three daughters happy.
This man is my hero.

Perfection

I was born with the intelligence of a dolphin.
I was born as bright as the sun.

I was born with a Mohawk
That grew into curly locks.

I was born with hair as soft as silk.

I was kissed by the sun
And I am Mom’s "South Dakota Peach"

If you looked in the dictionary under the word "beauty",
my name would be found.

The numbers of friends I have are still sky-rocketing.

I create masterpieces of fabrics that are wanted by many.

I have more colors than the rainbow.

My handwriting is as swift as a breeze.

All of my talents out number the stars in the sky.

I grow flowers prettier than rubies.

I am the perfect daughter.

My personality is envied.

My sense of humor is better than any comedian.

I am the best fish in the sea.

I am the best that could ever be found.

I am the definition of perfection.

Anything and Everything

Poetry is a warm gentle kiss
                                                                               From your true love.
Poetry is a walk in the park
                                                                               With a true friend.
Poetry is a day at the beach
                                                                               With your family.
Poetry is a dark summer tan.
Poetry is a long desired hug
                                                                               From someone missed.
                                            Poetry is a bright star
Shining next to a full moon.
                                            Poetry is a warm campfire.
                                                                                And smores.

Poetry is relaxing with a good book
                                                                                          On any given day.
Poetry is leaving the window open
                                                                                            And listening to the rain.
Poetry is laughing until your stomach hurts.
                                                        Poetry is baking cookies.
Poetry is jumping on the bed
                                                                                             and having a pillow fight.
                                                        Poetry is anything and everything.
Poetry is anything you want it to be.

The World is Not A Pleasant Place to Be
By poetry and Drama Students
Inspired by Nikki Giovanni

The world is not a pleasant place
To be without
Someone to hold and be held by

The sun wouldn’t smile
If there weren’t
A world
To smile back (MV)

You could never wish
Upon a star if
No one put them up there
And made them glow (JJ)

A flower would not grow
Without the laughter
Of the sun (JM)

A flower would die
If not watered by
Love. (SR)

A star would not shimmer
Without the moon
To make it glimmer. (ET)

A campfire would not be enjoyed
Without laughs
To accompany it. (AK)

Fields would not grow
Without rays
From the sun. (LJ)

Space is a lonely place
Without
The human race (JF)

The grass could not be green
Without the caring tears from the sky
A bird could not survive
Without the trust of a tree (AB)

The sky could not be so high
If no one held it upon their shoulders
To guard their people
And make it real. (MH)

You would never be warm or see light
If the sun was not there
To keep it all bright (AW)

A moose would not squeal
If there were no hunters
To harm it. (JA)

A tree wouldn’t grow
If the soil
Wouldn’t accept it (AC)

Music would not be pleasant
If our hearts weren’t there
To grasp it (AK)

The world would not shine
If the sun wasn’t to smile
If the grass wasn’t so green
And the sea wasn’t so blue. (NM)

The world is
Not a pleasant place to be without
Someone

Rain Cloud

The counseling session is only half an hour long.
It is shy at first and just changes colors.
After being completely full,
It bursts all of its feelings
To anyone and everyone listening or watching.

                                                 Illegal Immigrants

Just a thought,
but do they really think that the illegal immigrants
are going to cross where they are being watched for?

One, they might need to rethink running across the border.
Two, those experts are getting better and better predicting things.

Suspense
The game has 30 seconds left of the fourth quarter,
All the fans are on the tips of their toes
And cheering as loud as possible
Giving their support,

As the kicker takes up a running start
Knowing that the game
And the season is all on his shoulders.

The football sails through the air at a questionable angle,
Flips and tumbles in the air,
Nails the goal post as it slides down,
Continues to bounce perfectly on the bottom bar,
And then bounces forwards to make the point
That differentiates between going to the play-off game.

AND THE YANKTON BUCKS WIN!

Christmas

The hustle and bustle begins months before.
Parents and children begin shopping for their loved ones.
Store to store, the shoppers travel.
There is wrapping paper and bows to be bought as well.
The gifts are wrapped and shoved under a tree.
Treats are made for relatives to stuff themselves with.
After months and months of planning,
Santa and his elves have prepared all the gifts thinkable.
The naughty and nice list is set in stone.
The cookies are set out for Santa to enjoy.
Chimneys are shut off so Santa can travel.
Twelve reindeer travel, with Rudolph leading,
And Santa riding.
The gifts are safe in a magical bag.
House to house, the group travels ever so quietly,
In hopes of not awakening the children.
They land on the roof,
Santa slips his big belly down a soot filled chimney.
He first begins at the cookies and milk,
Heads to the stockings next.
Last, he makes his stop at the tree and stuffs his gifts under.
Finally, he stands in the chimney,
And with a wink of his eye,
He places his finger aside his nose and travels up the shoot!
The magical man and a hero of many,
Has completed one of millions of houses all over the world.

A Tad Bit Backwards
I woke up at night
After going to bed the morning before.

My snooze goes off and
I press my alarm a couple of times.

I flip on my bathroom and
I take a trip to my straightener.

I pop down peanut butter and jelly
And then coat it with my toast.

Before I leave for homework,
I make sure I have all of my day done.

I get home exhausted
and I am late at night.

Good dreams and sweet night!

Enjoying Life
I think that enjoying life should be a school-taught skill.

To simply listen to the rain,
Perhaps wake up early and go for a walk,
Spend a day reading a book,
Or take a walk around your favorite park.

In mid-afternoon,
Lay out in the sun while listening to your favorite music.
Also, take a swim in the lake.
AND! Before you leave, have a picnic with the ones you cherish.

To wrap up the day,
Watch the sun change colors as it begins another journey around the earth.
Afterwards, make some popcorn and pick out a cute movie.
Fall asleep with your one true love in front of a fire.

I think that school report cards should look like this:
                Taking a nap:
                            A
                Doing cartwheels:
                            A
                Smelling the flowers:
                            A
                  Exercising:
                            A
                    Enjoying life:
                            A+
