Dandelions are often an unwanted flower or weed by many people. I related well to a dandelion once because I was not wanted in a particular place.

The event was my favorite cousin’s birthday party. My cousin and I are really close, and she really wanted me to be at her thirteenth birthday party. My cousin happened to live out of town, and I arrived at the party, obviously, knowing not a single person besides my cousin and her mother and father. I was also older than all of the girls, and so I was sort of the odd girl out.

They all tried to make me feel like I was one of them, but it just was not the same. I felt unwanted, so instead of staying for my favorite cousin’s birthday party, I went home to watch movies with my parents instead.

Sometimes there is an unwanted factor, but instead of just giving up, a person should try to stick it out. I really wish I would have been there for my cousin’s important day, but instead I left. Dandelions are beautiful but also unwanted. Beauty should always overcome desires.
